Disabled and Senior Services providing numerous services to assist seniors in maintaining a healthy, active
and independent life. With more than 67,000 seniors over the age of 60, works hard to coordinate with communities and organizations to offer useful services. We strive to provide a safe and high quality of life for our seniors. If you are ever in need, the following services may be available to assist you.
Older Americans Act Transportation Services ’s Senior Transportation program helps seniors continue to live independently in the community by providing transportation to medical appointments, senior
dining centers and grocery stores.

Homemakers Program The Homemakers Program aims to keep people self sufficient and independent in their homes by providing light housekeeping and basic chores. This service is FREE to income-eligible
residents who have some type of physician-documented physical and/or mental condition which restricts their ability to maintain their own home.

Veteran Services
The Veteran Services Office assists residents who served honorably in the U.S. Armed Services to obtain any and all benefits for which they may be eligible. Our Office provides assistance to veterans
and veterans’ dependents in filing for service connected disability, pension and burial benefits
as well as providing referrals to veterans for educational and employment benefits.

Weatherization
Every year the agency helps low-income residents make their homes more energy
efficient. Weatherization also provides families tips to lower their energy bills.

Wildlife Programs
The agency’s through the gardener program, offers assistance to homeowners by answering questions about
plants and insects and by providing information to help you address pest problems. The agency
also offers assistance with urban wildlife issues through their Wildlife Master program.
For help with your garden and landscape or wildlife questions or to apply for either the
Gardener or Wildlife program,

Volunteer Connections ’s
volunteer program, offers a unique opportunity for residents to connect with local government
and support fellow neighbors through agency programs and services. At very little taxpayer expense, this program has the promise of focusing tremendous energy toward supporting our seniors with services
including Wellness Leaders who help those dealing with chronic health conditions. protects those who are
susceptible to mistreatment or self-neglect because they are unable to perform or obtain services
necessary for their own health, safety or welfare. Adult Protective Services investigates reports of
abuse, neglect and exploitation, and provides assessment, counseling, service coordination and
referrals to service providers. If you have concerns that someone you know is
being abused or neglected, that their money is being taken from them, or that someone is living
alone and seems to no longer be able to care for
him or herself.
